I graduated in 1968 from Hamlet High. I attended RTI which is currently Richmond Community College. Graduated with associate degree in Business Administration. On February 7, 1971 I received Jesus Christ as my personal savior (the greatest gift that I have ever received) On May 28, 1971 I married Shirley Jean Hayes from Latta, SC. (the second greatest gift that I have ever received. She was attending Hamlet School of Nursing from 1969-1972. In March of 1973 moved to Lakeland, Fl where I attended South-Eastern Bible College. I graduated from South-Eastern in 1976 with a BA degree in Bible and Christian Education minor. I received my Minister\'s license in 1977. I started teaching school in 1978 at the Bennettsville Elementary School where I worked with EMH students. In 1979 I started my first year at Richmond Senior High. On November 1, 2009 I worked my last official day for the state of North Carolina. I will continue to work for several more years. I have worked with vocational support services, and I have taught in a classroom for the last 15 years. I taught Keyboarding, Digital Communications and Computer Applications 1. I am now making tests for the vocational teachers in the county. I have two sons, Trey who is 35 and Joshua who is 31. I have four grandchildren: Jessalyn, Alex, Emily, and Sydney (girl). I have a lot of opportunities to minister the Word of God in the public school setting. I love jogging, cycling, motorcyling, hunting, cooking, and eating. For all my classmates, If you haven’t received Jesus Christ as your personal savior, you need to do so, TODAY!                                                11/09

Info: Graduated from HHS in 1968. After graduating from Appalachian State University in 1971, I signed a professional baseball contract with the Chicago White Sox & have been employed by baseball for the past 37 years (meaning, quite simply, that I have never held down an honest job in my adult life)!! Met my wife (Jan)in Helena, MT in 1978 while coaching for the Philadelphia Phillies & have lived there since. We have raised 3 children: Rian (age 30); Tyler (age 28); and McGraw (age 26). My travels don't afford me many opportunities to get back to Hamlet, but I have been back a few times for the annual Seaboard Festival. My parents were A.K. & Mary Gregson. My dad passed away in 2005 & my mom still lives in the same house on Bauersfeld St. where I was born & raised. I have nothing but fond memories of Hamlet & all those from my past that called it home.
